Happy New Year?

2014 is here. After a horrible end to 2013 I’ve been feeling uninspired. Just before Christmas I received a letter informing me that my course is looking like it wont go ahead, leaving me a bit devastated and wondering what I’ll be doing with my year.

My International Geek Girl Pen Pal club (ETA: link added ) 365 project wasn’t started on time… I do have a couple of pics on my phone from camping over the new year period, but the quality is terrible. I’ll get them up on instagram later, hopefully… The theme is open, so expect some rather random shots of kids, pets, work and the odd inspirational view.

I’ve decided that my personal project will be a 52 project. So with the help of an assignment generator I present you the first half of my weekly project (needless to say week 1 will be late). Each week will have at least 7 images and represent that weeks theme in some way.

  1. Inside of a car
  2. The letter B
  3. Macro
  4. Hands
  5. Yellow
  6. Signs
  7. Silhouette
  8. Graveyard
  9. Tea cups
  10. The number 3
  11. Sunset
  12. Apples
  13. Balloons
  14. Green
  15. Landscapes
  16. The letter L
  17. Lego Figures
  18. Flowers
  19. Books
  20. Smooth
  21. Park
  22. Ice cube
  23. Building Exterior
  24. My week
  25. Reflections
  26. Large

In other news, our A7 (Artist 7) group will be holding an exhibition entitled Beauty in Decay, at the end of April in Dudley House, Bendigo. I’ll add more details as time gets closer.

I’ll be back soon with my first and second 52 project updates!

It’s done!

The year has ended and I am finally done with the diploma I started long ago.

To keep the creativity flowing, and hopefully in preparation for the next step in my academic journey, I have been considering a 365/52/12 type project.  I have joined a 365 photographic group, the challenge starting with the new year, which will hopefully bring some wonderful inspiration for my personal project of either 52 or 12 depending on the scope of each idea, whether the new course gets funding and how much time I have to pursue the project.

The plan is to use this blog for good to record both sets of projects and keep me motivated to complete both projects on time. The group challenge will most likely be shared on my instagram page, since it’s also well over due for some artistic love.
However my personal project will give the blog some loving as I update my progress along the way, with the theme for the week/month and any highlights, struggles, and lessons I learn along the way.

In the mean time I would like to wish you all the very best for the festive season and hope you all have a safe and enjoyable new year.  See you Jan 1 with my first project update!
